No 2. INFORMATION TO THE FIRST GREAT STURGEON (HUSO HUSO) RESTOCKING IN HUNGARY

I would like to inform you that based on the Danube Biosphere Reserve message Ukraine fisherman captured a young (TL about 50 cm.)  beluga downstream of Vilkovo.  Due to the tag number MTA BLKI No10998 the young beluga (Huso huso) was released in the Danube river downstream Budapest  (Ercsi ) on 3th November 2010. The fish passes through the Iron Gate I. and II. dams unharmed. The first Hungarian beluga release seems to be successful. The young Hungarian, born in Romania after more than 1600 river km is on his way to the home See thank to the Uraine fisherman. (More information see website:  www.hallepcso-fishpass.eu).

The release was coordinated by the North-Transdanubian Environment and Water Directorate and happened in between October and November 2011 in Győr, Budapest and Ercsi area (300 pcs. all together). The initiators and supporters of the beluga release was Rideg&Rideg Fish farm Ltd. “Forward” Fish Farm Co-operative, Middle-Danube Fish Ltd. and the Fishpass Private Partnership. The tagging was done by the Balaton Fisheries PLC.

Without contributions of the Serbian, Ukraine fisherman and the Ukraine Danube Biosphere Reserve, the Romanian Danube Delta Institution and the Belgrade University Faculty Biology  this success will be never achieved. Thanks  to the media which information was essential for the future activity.
Thank you for all.
